- 0:00I'm Karina. I teach elementary school students where most of my kids are English language learners.
- 0:05With Claude for Teachers, it works across the tools I already use, and then it keeps doing it for me
- 0:10on a schedule I set myself. I'd rather just talk it through out loud. There's so much I want to
- 0:16know that typing it all out would take forever, so I give it one brief by voice. I tell Claude,
- 0:22pull my latest second grade ELA lesson from TeachFX. Tell me what resonated with students
- 0:27and what didn't. Review talk time, questioning, and engagement. Then draft
- 0:32tomorrow's lesson plan and add advice based on the lesson's transcript. Align
- 0:36to state standards and be sure to meet California's ELD standards for my
- 0:40English language learners. Claude finds yesterday's lesson on its own through
- 0:46TeachFX. That's the recording of how the lesson actually landed with my students.
- 0:51In one go, Claude came back with both a coaching summary of how today actually
- 0:56went and tomorrow's lesson plan already adapted to it. Let me look at the coaching summary first.
- 1:02It walks me through the lesson the way a coach would, the good stuff. My opening hook and my
- 1:07turn in talks really landed. And my teacher to student talk ratio looks great. My kids are
- 1:13talking more than I am, which is exactly what I want to see. Where I can do better? I asked a lot
- 1:19of great open-ended questions, but I didn't leave enough wait time for student thinking.
- 1:23So my one thing for tomorrow is simple.
- 1:26Ask the question, then wait five seconds before I call on anyone.
- 1:30That's feedback I got right away, instead of waiting for my monthly check-in with our instructional coach.
- 1:36Now the lesson plan, and it's already built around what the coaching found.
- 1:40Claude pulled up the lesson planning skill it comes with and grounded the plan in our standards.
- 1:45It also added the California ELD supports my English learners need, drawing on the Learning Commons Knowledge Graph.
- 1:52And the best part, the coaching notes are right inside the plan, so I actually hit my goal.
- 1:58I liked this enough that I didn't want to do it by hand every afternoon,
- 2:02so I just asked Claude to keep it going. I tell Claude,
- 2:05great, please do this every weekday at 4 p.m.
- 2:11I run it once just to be sure.
- 2:17And there it goes. While I'm driving home, Claude's reviewing how my lesson actually went.
- 2:22and getting tomorrow's ready.
- 2:23Now I get the instructional feedback I've always craved
- 2:27without adding a single minute to my day.
