  1. 0:04ChatGPT Work can use the tools you already use through plugins.
  2. 0:08But some tools don't have a plugin.
  3. 0:09Others live in a desktop app or a website where I've already signed in.
  4. 0:12And that's where Computer Use and Chrome Use come in.
  5. 0:15They're only available in the Work tab with the ChatGPT desktop app,
  6. 0:18not in a regular ChatGPT, on the web or on your phone.
  7. 0:22Computer Use lets ChatGPT use desktop apps just like you do.
  8. 0:25You can click, type, and move between apps and windows.
  9. 0:27Chrome uses the same thing in your browser, using websites where you're already signed in.
  10. 0:32And both can work in the background, so you can keep using your computer.
  11. 0:35Before accessing an app or website, ChatGPT asks for permission.
  12. 0:39You can allow it once or let it remember your choice for next time.
  13. 0:42I'm using dictation here, so I can say what I need instead of typing it.
  14. 0:45Play my day list in Spotify. This is a small task, but it makes the distinction clear.
  15. 0:50There isn't a special Spotify integration here.
  16. 0:53ChatGPT is using the desktop app I already use.
  17. 0:55On a Mac, it can handle a task like this in the background while I keep working.
  18. 0:59I can watch it, take over, or stop whenever I want.
  19. 1:02And if I want to show ChatGPT what I'm looking at, I can press Command-Command to take an
  20. 1:07app shot.
  21. 1:08It works with apps or websites and is like a screenshot with context, so ChatGPT can
  22. 1:12see and understand what I'm looking at without me having to explain everything.
  23. 1:16Chrome lets ChatGPT work in the browser I already use, including websites where I'm
  24. 1:20signed in.
  25. 1:21I'm going on vacation next month.
  26. 1:22Can you prepare a PTO request on a Workday for September 14th to 15th?
  27. 1:27Check my calendar for conflicts and draft an out-of-office event for the same dates.
  28. 1:31Show me both drafts and stop before submitting the PTO request or creating a calendar event.
  29. 1:37Workday doesn't have a plugin, so Chrome use handles the part that normally means opening
  30. 1:40tabs and filling out the form.
  31. 1:42This is why Chrome use and plugins work well together.
  32. 1:45ChatGPT uses the browser for Workday because there's no plugin, and then it uses the Google
  33. 1:48Calendar plugin to check my schedule and prepare the out-of-office event.
  34. 1:51And it stops there.
  35. 1:53The request is filled out, the calendar event is ready.
  36. 1:56But submitting PTO and creating an event are real changes,
  37. 1:59so I get to review them first.
  38. 2:00This is how I use ChatGPT work.
  39. 2:02I want ChatGPT to take on the tedious steps,
  40. 2:04and I still want the final decision
  41. 2:06when something affects my calendar, my team,
  42. 2:08or another system.
  43. 2:09For me, the simple rule is,
  44. 2:11use a plugin when there's a direct route to a tool you need,
  45. 2:14choose computer use when the work lives on a desktop app,
  46. 2:16and choose Chrome use when the work lives
  47. 2:18in a browser you already signed into.
  48. 2:19A PTO request ready to submit, and an out-of-office event ready to create.
  49. 2:24That's ChatGBT work.
