  1. 0:00Imagine having AI at your fingertips, basically AI in Raycast, completely aware of your workflow,
  2. 0:07of your system. No logins, no captures, it's just there, ready to be used. Let me show you what I
  3. 0:15mean. So here I've got an article that I'm currently working on and I'm going to use that
  4. 0:20as an example. I'm going to select this intro text here, which is quite poorly written,
  5. 0:25and I'm going to open up Raycast and type in improve writing.
  6. 0:30I'll press enter and notice how we can see the Notion logo
  7. 0:34and there's some selected text and we get a response
  8. 0:37with an improved version of our text,
  9. 0:40which I can then press command K and paste that back into Notion.
  10. 0:44And next up, I can select the second paragraph
  11. 0:48and I would like to change the tone so it's a little bit more friendly.
  12. 0:52And here we have our rewritten text.
  13. 0:56And on a second thought, I think it's a little bit too friendly.
  14. 0:59So I'm going to press command K and ask AI to change the tone to professional.
  15. 1:06And I think that's much better.
  16. 1:08So I'll press command K again and paste that back into Notion.
  17. 1:13So far, we've been using some of the built-in AI commands, such as the improve text and
  18. 1:19change tone of voice.
  19. 1:20But we can create custom commands on the fly.
  20. 1:23To show you how that works, let's create a title for this article.
  21. 1:27And I want the title to be based off of the first paragraph.
  22. 1:31So I'm going to select that.
  23. 1:32And then I'm just going to ask AI to give me five title options based on this.
  24. 1:41And once we have our response, because this is in the context of a chat,
  25. 1:45we can actually continue the conversation if we need to provide more context.
  26. 1:50So, for example, I really like option 2, but I'd like to leave out the extra details and
  27. 1:56just keep it simple.
  28. 1:59My Raycast worked.
  29. 2:01That sounds great.
  30. 2:02I'm gonna go with that.
  31. 2:03I'll press Command K and I'm going to copy the last response and paste it in the title.
  32. 2:13This is a great way to quickly ask AI for something on the fly.
  33. 2:17But if there is a command that you use frequently, we can create this command in a more granular way.
  34. 2:24Let me show you how.
  35. 2:25Let's search for the create AI command.
  36. 2:28And in the title, I'm going to put in summarize article.
  37. 2:33In the instruction, I'm just going to say summarize this article as a list of key takeaways.
  38. 2:41We can choose an icon for it, which will show up in the root search.
  39. 2:46and we can choose a creativity.
  40. 2:49For this case, I'm just gonna leave it as medium
  41. 2:51and let's create that.
  42. 2:53Now over here, we have an article from Diverge
  43. 2:55and I'm just going to select the content of this article,
  44. 2:59open Raycast and search for summarized article.
  45. 3:02Press enter.
  46. 3:03And here's the quick summary of that article.
  47. 3:06And because this is something I use quite frequently,
  48. 3:09I'm gonna go back to this command
  49. 3:11and assign a hot key to it,
  50. 3:13which is going to be option A.
  51. 3:18So next time I'm on an article, I can just select the content,
  52. 3:22press option A, and quickly get a summary of its content.
  53. 3:29I also want to create an AI command that will convert my JavaScript functions to TypeScript.
  54. 3:35So let's go ahead and do that.
  55. 3:37We'll open up Raycast, create AI command.
  56. 3:40and we'll call this one convert to TypeScript.
  57. 3:44And in the instruction, we'll type in convert this JavaScript function to TypeScript.
  58. 3:50For the icon, we can choose the code icon and creativity will set this one to low.
  59. 3:56So here's an extension that I'm currently working on
  60. 3:59and you can see how this contact variable is typed to any.
  61. 4:03So let's select this whole function here, open up Raycast and convert to TypeScript.
  62. 4:09And you can see we get back a code block and that's converted our function into TypeScript.
  63. 4:16One thing to note is that the email is actually optional.
  64. 4:21So I'm just going to go ahead and tell the Raycast AI to make it optional.
  65. 4:28And you can see that it has now provided us with a new function where email is optional
  66. 4:34and it's also conditionally rendering the copy to clipboard action based on whether there is an
  67. 4:41email or not. So this looks good to me. I'm going to press Command K and paste that into VS Code.
  68. 4:50Up until now, we've been looking at how we can use these predefined commands to initiate the chat
  69. 4:55using the text selection as the context. But we can also open up a blank chat window by using the
  70. 5:03ask AI commands and then from here you can start asking whatever you want. You can still access
  71. 5:09your predefined AI commands from here. And like other AI chats this is contextual so you can keep
  72. 5:18the conversation going. And two last things for me the first one is that we're going to be exposing
  73. 5:29a lot of these features through a first class API so developers can build even better Raycast
  74. 5:35extensions and two if you're interested in anything you've seen here today make sure to
  75. 5:41sign up to the waiting list on raycast.com slash ai and we're going to be rolling out
  76. 5:47the invites over the next few weeks.
