  1. 0:00Hello, I'm Rahul, founder of Superhuman Mail.
  2. 0:04Today, I am super excited to introduce the biggest mobile update we've ever made,
  3. 0:09a complete soup to nuts, top to bottom redesign of our mobile app.
  4. 0:13Joining me is Levi, our wonderful mobile product lead.
  5. 0:16Hello, everyone.
  6. 0:17Now, we know that people love our web and desktop apps,
  7. 0:21but our mobile apps have not yet reached that bar.
  8. 0:23So we spoke with thousands of users,
  9. 0:26digging deep into what you love and where you get stuck.
  10. 0:29Yeah, we really took all that feedback to heart and redesigned the whole experience around four key principles.
  11. 0:35Principle number one is this. You can do anything important with one fast tap.
  12. 0:40In the old design, it was hard to get to key parts of the app.
  13. 0:43Our calendar was a small icon in the top left of the screen.
  14. 0:47Search was only accessible by pulling down on the inbox.
  15. 0:50And the inbox didn't really have an icon.
  16. 0:52You had to navigate back wherever you were.
  17. 0:54In the new design, we have a persistent navigation bar at the bottom of the screen
  18. 0:59that lets you switch instantly between your inbox, calendar, and search.
  19. 1:03That's awesome. Now, have we kept the quick tap to switch accounts button?
  20. 1:07We certainly have. That was part of the old design that people loved.
  21. 1:11Okay, tell us about principle number two.
  22. 1:13Principle number two is this. Writing should feel effortless.
  23. 1:17In the old design, we had one experience for writing a new email
  24. 1:20and a completely different experience when you're replying to an email.
  25. 1:23In the new design, they're the same.
  26. 1:26They're fast, they're minimal, and beautiful.
  27. 1:29And all the power of superhuman mail is still there.
  28. 1:31Remind me, send later, snippets, and more.
  29. 1:33Absolutely, they're all still there.
  30. 1:35Great.
  31. 1:36Okay, now when it comes to speed,
  32. 1:38nothing is faster than voice.
  33. 1:39So tell us about that.
  34. 1:40Yeah, we made write with voice twice as fast.
  35. 1:43You can now turn rambling thoughts
  36. 1:45into a polished email in seconds.
  37. 1:47Amazing.
  38. 1:48Okay, what about principle number three?
  39. 1:50Principle three is this.
  40. 1:51The interactions should be fast and intuitive.
  41. 1:55In the old design, certain things were fast but hard to do.
  42. 1:58The only way to discard drafts was by pulling down on them.
  43. 2:01The only way to reply to previous messages was by swiping right on them.
  44. 2:04These gestures, while fast, were also really hard to learn.
  45. 2:08In the new design, those actions are now fast and obvious.
  46. 2:12And we've also kept the unique gestures that make the app uniquely superhuman.
  47. 2:17Absolutely.
  48. 2:18In most email apps, to get back to the inbox, you have to swipe from the edge of the screen
  49. 2:22or tap a back button that is really far away.
  50. 2:25In our new app, you can swipe anywhere on the screen to go back.
  51. 2:29And in most email apps, to search, you have to tap a small icon that's really far away.
  52. 2:33In our new app, you can pull down anywhere on the inbox to search.
  53. 2:37So good.
  54. 2:37Okay, let's bring it home with principle number four.
  55. 2:40Principle number four is this.
  56. 2:42Our products should feel native to their platforms.
  57. 2:44We've designed for Liquid Glass on iOS and Material 3 on Android.
  58. 2:49We've increased contrast and font sizes throughout the app to make it easier to read.
  59. 2:54And we've moved from a cold color scheme to a warmer, friendlier design.
  60. 2:57As AI advances, we think it's important to keep the human at the center of what we do.
  61. 3:02Now this redesign is a huge step forward, but we are by no means done.
  62. 3:06What can folks look forward to in the future?
  63. 3:08Yeah, this redesign is really just the beginning.
  64. 3:11We're going to overhaul the email engine itself,
  65. 3:13which will improve search and make the app feel significantly faster.
  66. 3:17We're going to connect auto-drafts to the apps and tools you already use
  67. 3:21so your drafts have full context.
  68. 3:23And we're going to build a voice mode that lets you navigate, respond,
  69. 3:26and clear your inbox completely hands-free.
  70. 3:29Well, each one sounds incredible, and I for one cannot wait.
