  1. 0:01Hi everyone. Today I'm excited to show you a little side project slash app I've been working on.
  2. 0:07It's called Phonon, and this essentially aims to give you pure ownership, fast, and local control
  3. 0:18over your voice dictation setup. So I know there are tools like Whisperflow and AquaVoice and
  4. 0:23some others, Super Whisper, etc. This one brings everything completely local with the best
  5. 0:29possible quality. Of course it's still a work in progress, there's still many
  6. 0:34improvements need to be made, but this is a version I'm happy releasing. So you go
  7. 0:39to Phonon.sh and you could just download. It's only 24 megabytes. Go ahead and open
  8. 0:47this, drag it into the applications, and then go ahead and open and keep
  9. 0:58recordings and transcripts and then it's going to do local OCR on the front
  10. 1:03of this window so it has some context as to what you're working on and then
  11. 1:07simply we have the MacBook Pro microphone here and if we go to settings
  12. 1:12I can go ahead and do like for example function to hold and I can go ahead and
  13. 1:20dictate so if I just like close this and close that and close this I can
  14. 1:28go ahead and press this function key down here and as you'll see the little
  15. 1:32bulb down there opens up. If I open Raycast it's gonna
  16. 1:39testing testing one two three. So it's using the Parakeet, actually I'll walk
  17. 1:45you through here, it's using the Parakeet 0.6bv2 model, English only, as well as
  18. 1:51the Gemmafore E2b instruction 2 and 4 bit for MLX. It currently runs at like 80
  19. 1:57token second but this is the this is the first version of Phonon and there is a
  20. 2:02github repo here to complement that as well I do releases frequently and yeah
  21. 2:07stay tuned for updates but this is a this is a decent local setup that should
  22. 2:11give you you know there's some decent you know keeps track of some metrics get
  23. 2:19your history put a custom dictionary in there have some toggleable settings and
  24. 2:26even add some functionality of your own if you want to fork it. So I hope you like this. This is
  25. 2:30phone on.
