  1. 0:00When an agent makes a change, you'll want to review it, run it, and see it.
  2. 0:04The good news is that you can do all three without leaving the app.
  3. 0:07Normally, those three jobs would mean bouncing between your editor, a terminal window, and a web browser.
  4. 0:12Here, they live side by side as built-in panels, so checking an agent's work is quick, instead of a chore.
  5. 0:18Let's tour them one at a time.
  6. 0:25A diff shows exactly what changed, with additions in green and deletions in red,
  7. 0:29so nothing is a mystery.
  8. 0:30If you're new to the word,
  9. 0:32a diff is simply a before and after comparison.
  10. 0:34The lines that were added, removed, or changed,
  11. 0:36usually colored so they jump out.
  12. 0:38And you're not just a passive reader.
  13. 0:40You can accept changes, leave comments,
  14. 0:42or ask Copilot to adjust.
  15. 0:44This is where you stay the decision maker
  16. 0:46and nothing is final until you say so.
  17. 0:48Now, reading code is good, but running it is better.
  18. 0:51The terminal panel lets you run commands
  19. 0:54right inside the session.
  20. 0:55If a terminal looks intimidating, relax.
  21. 0:57Here, you're mostly just running the project's own commands
  22. 1:00and reading the results.
  23. 1:02For Tailspin Toys, I'll start the app.
  24. 1:04We can do it here by hand, or we can configure it
  25. 1:08as a script and then always have it available
  26. 1:10with the Run button.
  27. 1:11So here, I've added the dev server script
  28. 1:13that opens the client folder and then runs npm run dev.
  29. 1:17If we click Run, this will start the server for the website.
  30. 1:21So the Run action opened a new terminal window,
  31. 1:24but we still have our existing terminal window
  32. 1:26as another tab so we can jump back if we want to to continue running commands.
  33. 1:31For anything with a user interface, the browser panel closes the loop.
  34. 1:35Tailspin Toys is a website so I can open it and actually use the new feature the same way a real
  35. 1:40user would. Here if I wanted to keep iterating I can use the pick and polish tool to select this
  36. 1:46element and then continue to work with the agent because I've added it as context.
  37. 1:50So now we can run our dev server again after I've made any changes and then we'd be able to see the
  38. 1:56fix. So we were able to review the diff, run it in the terminal and see in the browser and
  39. 2:02immediately iterate over it to get a working sort feature. There's no tab hopping, no switching apps,
  40. 2:07no losing your place. That's the tight loop and the whole point. The faster you can go from change
  41. 2:13to confidence, the more comfortable you'll be letting agents help. Once we're happy, we can
  42. 2:17accept the change right here and create a PR and move on. Having review, run and preview side by
  43. 2:23side is exactly what makes agent-made changes feel safe instead of scary because you've seen
  44. 2:28the proof with your own eyes. Together, these built-in panels answer the three questions you
  45. 2:32should always ask about an agent's work. What changed, does it run, and does it actually work?
  46. 2:38Make this your habit. Next time an agent edits your code, open the diff, run the tests,
