- 0:00There are a ton of AI video tools out right now. The hard part isn't picking one, it's knowing what
- 0:04each one's good at and how they fit together. I'm Tanner. I've been a professional video editor and
- 0:08motion designer for nearly a decade and have made tens of thousands of dollars working on Contra.
- 0:13Today I'm breaking down Flora, VO3, and Runway, the pros and cons of each, where they sit in my
- 0:18pipeline, and how they connect into one workflow. Let's jump into it.
- 0:30Flora comes first in my pipeline. It's my rapid prototyping tool. Here's how I use it.
- 0:35I test motion concepts in minutes instead of hours in either VO or runway.
- 0:40I prototype style frames to hammer home concepts. I prototype animation timing and pacing.
- 0:46I generate quick previews for client approval. And most importantly,
- 0:50it bridges the gap between static design and full motion. Flora catches problems early.
- 0:55If an animation idea doesn't work in Flora, it won't work in Runway or VO either.
- 1:00But I've only spent 10 minutes finding out instead of multiple hours.
- 1:03Flora files can't go directly into After Effects of broadcast quality, but they tell me exactly what to generate.
- 1:09Once Flora proves a concept and the client has signed off on the direction, Runway becomes my go-to tool.
- 1:14I use Runway to generate cinematic hero shots and B-roll footage for client-facing work.
- 1:19I create specific camera movements, pans, zooms, dollies, and I produce consistent, reliable outputs for tight deadlines.
- 1:28Runway costs more, but it delivers broadcast quality footage.
- 1:32When a client is paying for polish, this is where I go.
- 1:35The higher cost means I can't afford to experiment as much here.
- 1:38That's why Flora comes first.
- 1:39I prototype cheap, then execute at a premium cost when I have the direction locked.
- 1:44Theo3 sits parallel to runway.
- 1:46It's for when I need to produce output at a higher volume.
- 1:49VO works on a credit per generation model and allows for as many as four different outputs
- 1:54per prompt at a time.
- 1:55So it lets me experiment with specific shots or scenes without needing as much precision
- 2:00as I would in runway.
- 2:01VO is faster and cheaper than runway, but less predictable.
- 2:05I'll get three great outputs and two that don't quite work.
- 2:08That's the trade-off.
- 2:09For more experimental work, that's perfect.
- 2:12For client-facing polish, it's slightly riskier in that it will likely require more
- 2:16refinement. Once Flora proves a concept, I shift focus to both runway and VO for
- 2:21the actual footage generation using each tool strategically based on the
- 2:24project needs. Here's the full workflow. Step 1. Flora for prototyping. Test the
- 2:30motion concept, timing, and pacing. Step 2. Runway if the client has budget and
- 2:35needs polish. VO if it's more experimental or budget conscious. And
- 2:39Step 3. After Effects and Premiere for finishing. Composite AI footage with
- 2:43motion graphics, fix artifacts, color grade, and add branding.
- 2:47This is where everything comes together.
- 2:50Each tool has a specific job.
- 2:52None of them work alone.
- 2:53They all combine to create something great
- 2:55to hand off to the client.
- 2:57That's how I build AI video projects that actually ship.
