  1. 0:00I want to quickly walk through the computer use demo that we published to show how easy it is to get set up and to show that you don't even need to know how to code to actually run this on your own computer.
  2. 0:11I'm in a hotel room right now. It's midnight and I have terrible Wi-Fi and I got this up and running in just a few minutes.
  3. 0:17So to show off what the demo actually looks like, we have this interface running here on a local host in our browser.
  4. 0:25We can type into this text box on the left and then Claude will operate this virtual machine that is being displayed on the right.
  5. 0:34So let's ask Claude to open up Firefox and navigate to Claude.ai.
  6. 0:48And you'll see how to take a screenshot. Apologies for that loud clicking noise.
  7. 0:54and Claude finds the Firefox icon and then clicks on it, opens up Firefox,
  8. 1:00goes to the search bar and should type in Claude.ai here. See, there it goes.
  9. 1:12Types in Claude.ai, hits enter, then it will take a few seconds but this page will
  10. 1:18render on my Wi-Fi. There it is. Perfect. So this is the demo. You can continue the conversation by
  11. 1:26just typing back into this text box as well. So how do we get this set up? The first thing you
  12. 1:32need to do is navigate over to the Anthropic Quick Starts repo on GitHub. So go to Anthropic
  13. 1:39Quick Starts and then into the computer use demo folder. I'll paste a link below. And then you're
  14. 1:46just going to scroll down here and find this section, quick start running the Docker container.
  15. 1:53The first step is that you're going to need to create an Anthropic API key. So you can click
  16. 1:59on this link. It will direct you to console.anthropic.com where you can create an account,
  17. 2:04load it up with some credits, and then navigate over to settings, API keys, and then click this
  18. 2:10create key button, call it whatever you want, select a workspace and create the key. Make sure
  19. 2:19you press copy key here. I'm going to delete this key after this video is done, of course,
  20. 2:26but once you have this key, you're going to go back over into your terminal. So open up a terminal
  21. 2:32here, clear this, and we're just going to run this command, export anthropic underscore API
  22. 2:42underscore key equals, and then paste in your API key right here, and then hit enter.
  23. 2:50So once you do that, you can navigate back to the GitHub repo, and you're going to see this
  24. 2:55second terminal command. This requires that you have Docker to use. So go over to the Docker
  25. 3:02website, find their Docker desktop download page, then press this download button here,
  26. 3:09select the right download for whichever system you're on. I'm on a Mac with Apple Silicon,
  27. 3:15so I'd select this. This will run you through a download process. I already have Docker,
  28. 3:19so I don't need to go through this again. But then once we have Docker, we can go back over,
  29. 3:24copy this command, open up the terminal again, paste this in, and hit enter. This,
  30. 3:32on your first time running it, will take a few minutes to go through all the
  31. 3:35downloads. For me, of course, I've already ran it, so it's just going through that
  32. 3:40setup process again. Great, so that got set up, took only a few seconds, and it
  33. 3:48gave us this URL that we can navigate to. So let's go back into our browser, and
  34. 3:52And you can see this is the same URL right here.
  35. 3:54We'll just press refresh.
  36. 3:56And you can see that the demo has appeared again.
  37. 3:58And then we can type back into this text box and it'll work exactly as it did at the beginning of the video.
  38. 4:03Let me know how this works for you.
