  3. 0:05But you can share your screen context with AI.
  4. 0:08And it's much more than just a screenshot.
  5. 0:10It can read from your apps,
  6. 0:12it can get a website's content,
  7. 0:14understand what you're focused on, and more.
  8. 0:17It's a really handy feature and I've been using it a lot.
  9. 0:20So let me show you how it works
  10. 0:23so that you can make the most out of it as well.
  11. 0:25The first time you run Screen Awareness,
  12. 0:28you'll be asked to give a series of permissions this is so raycast can have access to your screen
  13. 0:33read its content and give everything it needs as context to ai you also have the option to set a
  14. 0:40hotkey here which by default we recommend double tapping the right command key i've been using it
  15. 0:47and i love it because up until now i had zero use cases for this key here's what happens when you
  16. 0:54send focused window to AI. By default, it will launch a new AI chat with this new kind of
  17. 1:00attachment that contains all of the screen awareness data. If you click on it, you can see
  18. 1:06exactly what the agent gets as context, which can be the app details and content like the name,
  19. 1:14the title of the window and its content, your window selection. If you had anything selected,
  20. 1:19this is useful when you want to call attention to something specific and ask AI about it.
  21. 1:26Likewise, it contains the focused control, that is, the thing your mouse or cursor is pointed at.
  22. 1:33AI also gets a screenshot of the focused window, so that the model can see anything that isn't just text.
  23. 1:42If you have the Raycast browser companion installed,
  24. 1:45you also get all of the page details from a website.
  25. 1:51And on a Mac, sending a window from Finder
  26. 1:55gives AI specific context about a file or a folder you have selected.
  27. 2:01So it can even start working directly there
  28. 2:03and creating and modifying your files.
  29. 2:06Just so we're clear here, this is not just sending a screenshot to AI.
  30. 2:11Something I used to do all the time and I've basically stopped now.
  31. 2:15It does send a screenshot, but alongside of it, it sends all of the content that you can see and even some stuff that you can't see.
  32. 2:23So it's basically like your AI is seeing even more than what you can see with the extra context you have of it.
  33. 2:31A personal use case I used to do a lot was taking screenshots from the browser and using
  34. 2:37clean shot scrolling capture commands because oftentimes I wanted more than what would fit in
  35. 2:45the viewport. I would have to drag the selection area, click the button, scroll very slowly and
  36. 2:50then drag and drop that into AI chat. But now I can just double tap the right command key and send
  37. 2:57in all of that context, straight to AI Chat.
  38. 3:01If you look for screen awareness in settings,
  39. 3:04you'll see there's a few more commands there
  40. 3:06that each do something slightly different.
  41. 3:09For example, there is a command
  42. 3:10that sends a screen area to AI.
  43. 3:13It basically lets you draw an area,
  44. 3:16screenshot it and send it straight to AI.
  45. 3:18This is closer to the workflow I used to do,
  46. 3:21but without actually taking a screenshot
  47. 3:23and copying it to the clipboard history.
  48. 3:25That way, I don't need to pollute the clipboard history with screenshots that are basically single use.
  49. 3:33Definitely worth playing around and seeing which one works best for your workflow.
  50. 3:37In each command, it can also decide whether it sends screen awareness to AI chat or Quick AI.
  51. 3:44AI chat in Raycast can now also load skills and extensions automatically
  52. 3:49and give you timely answers that are relevant to you
  53. 3:53and get more personalized with time as it learns from what you work on.
  54. 3:57Screen awareness now gives you even more ways to interact with it and give it context.
  55. 4:02And of course, this is all compatible with the latest models from the best AI providers,
  56. 4:08all bundled into a single subscription.
  57. 4:10It also works on Mac and Windows and your chats sync to iOS.
  58. 4:16It's really a no-brainer.
